Scott Atkins, B.A. CSCS, TSCC-GOLDDirector of Sport ConditioningScott is the Director and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Twist Sport Conditioning Centre in Burlington. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfred Laurier University and he is a Twist Master Coach, delivering certifications and presenting all over North America. Scott has an extensive and wide ranging sport background that ranges from playing in the Ontario Hockey League to being a Strength and Conditioning Coach to many Elite level athletes. Scott was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL for 4 years. Scott has worked with athletes from a variety of sports and combined with his Elite Level playing experience and his educational background he delivers a Strength and Conditioning program that takes athletes to the next level.

Dave Blais, B.Sc. NSCA-CPT, TSCC-GOLDAssistant Director of Sport ConditioningDave is the Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach at The Twist Sport Conditioning Centre in Burlington. He earned his diploma in Health and Fitness Promotion from Fanshaw College and he is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also furthering his education and earning his degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. Dave Blais has a wealth of experience training a wide range of individuals; from youth athletes to adults looking to reach their fitness goals. He has trained elite level athletes and has helped them take their game to the next level. Ask any of his clients, and they will attest to his hard work and dedication that he commits to every session. Dave's sporting background is rooted in the hockey world but he has also competed in Volleyball and Track.

Carmen Deacetis, B.A. PTS, RNCP, TSCC-SILVERMarketing and Service Manager & NutritionistCarmen is the Marketing & Service Manager at The Twist Sport Conditioning Centre in Burlington. With a background as a personal trainer in the fitness industry along with past managerial positions in the retail industry, Carmen has been able to excel at his position here with Twist. Carmen earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University and is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) through The Institute of Holistic Nutrition and is recognized as a Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner (RNCP) through the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP). Carmen's athletic background involves years of hockey experience from playing at an elite level to coaching minor hockey in the GTA.

Scott MacKenzie, B.Sc. CSCS, TSCC-GOLDSport Conditioning CoachScott MacKenzie earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University. With his interest in health, nutrition and fitness, Scott plans on expanding his knowledge by continually upgrading his tool box. Scott was successful in achieving his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA. Scott’s training experience in the fitness industry ranges from training football players, hockey players and adults with specific health issues. He brings with him experience from the football field as well; Scott played Varsity football for two seasons while attending Laurier. With his drive, motivation, and knowledge of athletic training, Scott later assisted the Varsity football team in improving their athletic performance. Scott’s athletic background also includes playing basketball; one of his passions in life, at a competitive level which he continues today.

Haleigh Callison: B. HK, TSCC-GOLDSport Conditioning CoachOriginally a high performance athlete with Twist, Haleigh graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Human Kinetics Degree while playing 5 years of Varsity Hockey as a proud Thunderbird. Haleigh joins the Twist Burlington Team after 6 years of working for Twist Head Office in Vancouver as a Sport Conditioning coach and camp administrator. Haleigh's journey led her to Burlington to play women's hockey for the Burlington Barracudas Senior AAA team this season. She was excited to have completed her first year of professional hockey in Berlin last season and looks bring home a championship in Burlington this year. Haleigh is originally from Smithers, BC where she grew up with her three older brothers. |

Scott Mifsud, B.Sc. PTS, TSCC-GOLDSport Conditioning CoachScott Mifsud attended the University of Vermont where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. While attending university, Scott was a member of the Varsity hockey team where he played 4 seasons. In his senior year, Scott led the league (ECAC) in scoring. Scott followed his passion for hockey and continued his playing career after graduating. He played a few years of pro hockey in the ECHL where he was second leading scorer in the league in only his second year. Scott continued his career overseas playing in Switzerland, Germany, & Italy. Scott has been a Twist athlete since 2007 participating in our High Performance Hockey Camp over the off-seasons. Scott knows the hard work and dedication it takes to train, and follow the Twist program in order to prepare for his next season. Making the Transition from athlete to coach came very natural for Scott as he exudes all the qualities that make for a great Twist coach. |

Derek Salvador, B.A. CSCS, TSCC-GOLDSport Conditioning CoachDerek earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Windsor. With his thirst for new knowledge, Derek went on to graduate from Humber College as a Physiotherapist Assistant where he currently rehabilitates athletes of all sports and ages. Derek earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA. He has also successfully completed multiple courses in the field of athletic movement and human performance. As an athlete, Derek continues to play soccer competitively in the Ontario Soccer League. He brings his passion of sports and training to every client and team that he coaches and strives to help them further develop as athletes. Some of Derek's other passions involve running, cycling and spending time with his family. |
